If you are already planning your camino travel for 2026, beware that Santiago airport will be closed for all traffic between April 23 and May 27 next year! There are of course other options so your camino doesn’t need to be affected in any way, you just might have to fly in to a different airport and enjoy a train or bus journey instead – try Rome2Rio for options on how to get anywhere by road, rail, water or air. Trains are operated by Renfe, ALSA and Flixbus offer extensive and inexpensive bus routes.

I have linked to the full article below, but there’s the initial gist:
It is one of the largest interventions to be carried out since the construction of the passenger terminal and for this purpose the Santiago de Compostela airport will close for 35 days for works. It will be between April 23 and May 27 of next year, 2026, and as announced by the airport manager – Aena – it will be a total closure of activity and therefore no type of air traffic will be allowed to or from the Galician capital.
